Custom of ‘burying winter’ - Szandaváralja, Nógrád County, Hungary – the Palóc Region. This custom was practiced here spontaneously for the last time in the early 1960s and then again in the early 1970s. Kunkovács mentions his opinion that organizers of consciously revived traditions may miss the essence of a custom, or change it for reasons of tourism, and this kind of thing was not interesting for him.
