Sztanó Hédi (professional folk dancer, documentary filmmaker) was also a student of Timár’s in the folk dance department at the Ballet Institute between 1971 and 1975. "Martin and Timár were dedicated - true masters working from the theories and values of Bartók and Kodály…they brought to life a new tradition that could be learned and taught. To this day, the method they formulated and initiated together is the method still used for teaching and choreography by everyone who is involved in folk dance [in Hungary]."
