Sebő Ferenc (born 1947 Hungarian folklorist and musician, best known as leader of the Sebő Ensemble, his role in starting the dance house movement and as one of the founders of the Hungarian Heritage House). He speaks mainly of Martin’s key role in starting the dance house movement. "Martin put us in contact with the real tradition. He didn’t just introduce us to the music he had documented in the villages, he immediately gave us the contacts to the musicians as well. He entrusted us with the task of recording the traditional musicians in the countryside – and the recordings had to be submitted to the Academy of Sciences afterwards.” Because of Martin’s support, the musicology research group decided to accept the music Sebő and Halmos were playing and the direction they were going (which ended up with the dance house movement). "…The reason the dance house movement has been so successful is because Martin’s theoretical support was behind it."
