A farewell to Sára Ferenc (1961 – Oct 2023). One of Feri’s filmed documents of dancing in Transylvania’s Gyimes region, a local dance event known as an ’old folks’ ball’ – provides the framework for remembering Feri and his life-work: the traditional dance and music of Gyimes. Sára Ferenc and his wife Varga Zsuzsanna moved from Hungary to Gyimes in the 1990s "to be there and live together with the people and their traditions…knowing that the music and the dance is one with the people and the life that they live". Also recalled here is a choreography Feri did for the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble which paid tribute to the music of traditional Gyimes fiddler Pulika János.
