Culinary Traditions – Soups of the Armenians of Transylvania’s Gyergyó Region. Armenians first arrived to Transylvania in the 1600s. Their descendents have been living there ever since. Specialties of the Armenian kitchen are still prepared today in the region. Hurut soups are described here. Hurut (or churut) is a traditionally prepared and dried seasoning for soups.
